about us

Originally a mission-driven clothing line tied to youth concussion awareness, STY House has carried over its focus to on-ice performance as well. The vision behind this brand has never been just clothes or just hockey. Similarly, STY House is not just a tournament team. We invest heavily in players both on and off the ice, and hope to assist them through all facets of their youth hockey journey. STY House is a community. From the players to the coaches and parents, people pridefully represent STY House.

Lewis Simon founded STY House with a mission to bring awareness to concussion prevention in youth sports, and this mission is very alive within the hockey program. Throughout all programming STY House offers, player safety is always top priority to ensure a long and fruitful career for our players. To be a part of STY House is allowing yourself to be a part of the culture, build confidence, develop skills, and have memorable experiences through it all.

our mission

The STY House mission and its impact would not exist today without the vision of our founder, Lewis Simon, and his personal experiences as a youth hockey player. Throughout his hockey career, Lewis endured multiple concussions, and during his third year of junior hockey, a final blow to the head forced him to step away from the sport he loved. As a result, Lewis developed POTS Syndrome and has since dedicated himself to advocating for head safety in youth sports, particularly in hockey.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Lewis sought to make a meaningful impact on youth head safety while staying connected to the hockey community. His dedication and quick rise in the sport earned him the role of Youth Director for the Chicago Reapers. Additionally, Lewis now holds a full-time position at Wasserman Hockey, a premier agency representing some of the top talent in the NHL. At Wasserman, he aspires to become a high-level hockey agent.

Looking ahead, Lewis aims to continue building the STY House Hockey brand. His vision includes developing highly successful teams that embody the STY House mission.

Concussion Legacy foundation

CLF’s work has been featured by the New York Times, 60 Minutes, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, BBC, PBS, HBO Real Sports, NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America, and many other news and media outlets.

The Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) was founded in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by Chris Nowinski, Ph.D. and Robert Cantu, M.D. Nowinski met Dr. Cantu, a world-renowned concussion expert, while seeking treatment for the Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) he developed from a concussion suffered during his career as a professional wrestler with WWE. In one visit Dr. Cantu changed everything Nowinski knew about concussions. As both a college and professional athlete, Nowinski had never learned the signs and symptoms of a concussion. He did not know how to recognize or report them during his football career at Harvard University. He didn’t know the value of resting after a concussion, nor was he warned of the long-term effects from injury, or repetitive head impacts. Nowinski decided to bring the information Dr. Cantu taught him into the public eye and set a goal to change how concussions were understood and handled in sports.
